Knowledge Base

The Knowledge Base section of Dev Hound can be used for product FAQs, technical specifications, documentation, tech notes, white papers or any other type of information. Knowledge Base Articles can also have files attached to them for example photos, screenshots, executable files and PDF documents 

Adding Articles

  • Click on the Knowledge Base tab
  • Click on the New link
  • Choose the software, Category and Date Reported
  • Enter the description and solution
  • Note that not all fields are required however at least the description field should be filled in
  • Click on the Save link

Exporting Articles

Knowledge base articles can be exported to HTML by clicking on the Export button on the Knowledge Base tab. A text area will be displayed containing the HTML required to produce the knowledge base article page. The knowledge base page will be displayed below the text area 

Adding Issues or Support Calls as Articles

Issues and support calls can be added to the knowledge base from the issue or support call edit area by clicking on the Add to KB button on the toolbar. A new article will be displayed containing the same information as the call or issue, remember to click on Save to save the knowledge base article 

Attaching Files

An article must be saved before a file can be attached to the article. Once the article has been added and saved ou may click on the link to the article and click the Add File link.
