Default Settings
To change the default settings of Dev Hound select Default Settings from the Admin Tab. The following settings are available:
- Description Preview Length - The length in characters for descriptions shown in the issue list
- Show Status as Icon - Whether the status of issues shown in the issue list is displayed as an image
- Show Priority as Icon - Whether the priority of issues shown in the issue list is displayed as an image
- Allow new users to sign up - Whether new users are allowed to sign up for access to Dev Hound. The sign up option is displayed on the login screen
- Status must adhere to workflow - Whether the status options displayed on the issue page is limited to those applicable to the workflow rules. For example if an issue is open and you have a workflow rule that say open issues cant be closed before testing then the "closed" option will not be available.
- Issue resolution by status icon click - Whether you can resolve an issue (mark it as fixed) by simply clicking on the icon in the status column on the issue screen
- Show Users First Name - Whether user's names show only the first name. This helps to improve the aesthetics of the issue list when user names are displayed
- Date Format - The date format used throughout Dev Hound. If unspecified Dev Hound will use the server PCs date format for the default profile of the PC. You can enter date formats such as dd-mm-yyyy, mm/d/yyyy, d/mm/yy, etc
Default Priority & Status
The default priority and status for issues and support calls is available by selecting Status or Priorities from the lookup table area from the Admin tab.
The priority and status tables have a column called default which identifies which item will be the default for new issues or support calls
