Windows Service
The windows service option runs the Desktop Gateway as a windows service will allows the gateway to run even when Windows is logged off. You can close the Desktop Gateway application and the gateway will still run (it is called desktopgatewayservice.exe if you look in Task Manager).
Start - Starts the service
Stop - Stops the service
Restart - Stops the service then starts the service
Restart if stopped - Restarts the service if for some reason it is stopped (eg major errors)
Port Settings
TCP/IP Port - This is the port that Desktop Gateway uses to communicate. All Desktop View and Desktop Share application pass traffic through this port. If you would like Desktop Gateway to be able to access Desktop Share/View users over the internet then you will need to forward this port to this PC.
Connection Method
Desktop Gateway provide two different ways to connect Desktop Share and Desktop View clients:
Invitation Code - When Desktop Share is run a 6 digit invitation code is displayed. The Desktop View user must enter the invitation code in order to connect to the user. This is the simplest, easiest and most secure way to connect to a user.
Select Users - This option displays a list of users for the Desktop View user to connect to. The Desktop Share user only need to run the application: no further communication is required. This option whilst making it simpler to connect to a user may require additional security which is why options for a gateway password and groups are available.

Gateway Security
This option allows you to specify a password that the Desktop View user must enter in their settings in order to connect to Desktop Share users through the gateway. This password is optional but can prevent unauthorized people from accessing your Desktop Gateway.
Customize Desktop Share
Desktop Share can be customized with your own branding. Just click on the customize button. You can also keep multiple customizations of Desktop Share for each group of users. See groups for more information.
