Transferring Files from the Remote computer to Local computer or vice versa is done through the Nexus Explorer which has been designed to emulate the functions of Windows Explorer. You can use all of the familiar functions of cutting, copying, pasting, creating new folders, browsing and deleting. You can perform operations like copying from directories on the remote computer to the remote computer and from the local computer to the local computer.

Browsing


Browsing in folders can be done by:
  • Clicking on a folder from the left hand pane. All sub folders appear below the selected folder. For example: My Computer, Remote Computer, etc.
  • Double click on a folder from the right hand pane. All sub folders and files appear in the right hand pane
  • Clicking on the "Up" button from the toolbar to choose to go to the parent folder

Copying Files / Folders


To copy files and/or folders:
  • Highlight the files or folders. You can select a range of files/folders by clicking on the first item, holding the shift key the click on the last item. To select individual items hold down the CTRL key and click on items.
  • Click on the "Copy" button
  • Select a destination for the "Copied" files/folders by Highlighting the directory to copy to
  • Click on the "Paste" button

Deleting Files / Folders


Select the files/Folders as described above. Click on the "Delete" button. You will be asked to confirm the deletion. Warning: Once you delete the files they are unrecoverable.

Creating New Folders


To create a new folder:
  • First select a folder or location to create the new folder in
  • Click on the "New" button from the toolbar
  • You can rename the folder as described below

Renaming Files/Folders


To rename a file or folder
  • Highlight the file or folder
  • Click on the Highlighted file/folder again
  • After a second or two you will be placed into edit mode where you can type in the new name
  • Press ENTER to save the changes to the filename or press ESC to cancel them

Refreshing Views


Sometimes you may need to refresh a view to check if the file contained have changed. You can do this by clicking on the "View" menu then selecting "Refresh".
