Requesting Help in Fire Walker

What is Requesting Help?

Help requests allow a user to request help from their system administration who can then take over the users computer and help them with their problem.

How to request help

If Fire Walker is waiting in the system tray (near the time on the taskbar) you can right click on the Fire Walker icon and choose "Request Help...". Alternatively you can also double click the request help icon on the main Fire Walker screen. When you request help Fire Walker will go into waiting mode if the help request was picked up by a system administrator

How to respond to a help request

Help requests are sent to all users on the LAN which have Fire Walker open. A popup message will appear saying that a help request has been made and asks if you would like to connect to the particular computer. Simply click "Yes" to connect to the users computer.

How to turn off receiving help requests

You may choose not to receive notifications of help requests by choose "Settings" from the connections menu and unchecking "Receive Help Requests".

Note: Help requests are only available over your local area network. Requests are only broadcast over the local subnet range.
